Blood Flow Restriction Training:
  • causes arterial and venous occlusion which largely replicates the physiological environment achieved by high intensity exercise, but does so while training at low to moderate intensities
  • causes muscle hypertrophy due to muscle hypoxia, metabolite accumulation, cell swelling, high threshold motor unit activation, and gene expression / endocrine factors
